Karen Daragan, Consultant
Karen Daragan has been helping leaders with change communications challenges related to corporate transformation and stakeholder engagement for more than 20 years. With a specialty in consumer packaged goods and healthcare, Karen creates internal change communications and engagement programs that drive performance, empower employees to embrace and lead change and foster connections between employees, leaders and the business. She is an innovator in bridging the gap between internal and external strategies and ensuring communications are always business aligned and multi-stakeholder focused.
Prior to Notion Consulting, Karen was a Managing Consultant with Ketchum Change, where her clients included FMC Corporation, Zoetis, Quest Diagnostics, Bayer Healthcare, Medrad, Johnson & Johnson and Serta Simmons. She has worked on mergers and acquisitions, corporate spin-offs, global network realignments, brand strategy shifts, and has introduced new leadership teams, functions and policies. Karen also brings expertise in C-suite counsel/messaging, community relations/public affairs, corporate responsibility and reputation management.
Prior to consulting, Karen was Vice President, Corporate Affairs Strategy & Responsibility for Altria Group (Philip Morris and Kraft Foods). There she led the company’s efforts to transform its image and reputation as a global tobacco, food and beverage company. She was a key member of the team that changed its corporate identity from Philip Morris Companies to Altria Group. She oversaw global public and employee opinion research, stakeholder engagement, corporate responsibility and issues management.
Before working at the corporate level, Karen spent over a decade at Philip Morris U.S.A., and was a Communications Director overseeing a team of 50.
She is a member of New York Women in Communications and Public Relations Society of America. Karen received her Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Communications from the University of Florida. A native of South Florida, she currently lives in New York City with her husband and daughter.
