Stephanie (Gurtman) Soss, Managing Consultant

Stephanie (Gurtman) Soss is a change agent, creative communicator and workplace strategist with expertise across the people side of the business. Working both internally and as a consultant, she brings deep experience in designing and implementing integrated change and communication programs, organization effectiveness strategies, engagement campaigns, and enterprise learning & development solutions that connect people with their organizations to drive strategy and results.  

Prior to Notion Consulting, Stephanie was a Manager of Organization Effectiveness at Verizon where she was responsible for partnering with executives and client teams to navigate a multi-billion dollar transformation that was redefining how the company operates internally and with customers. In her Wireless Team Lead role, Stephanie focused on building change leadership as a core competency at all levels of the Business through dynamic learning & development solutions. She also helped establish Change Labs, a hands-on learning experience focused on equipping Corporate HR Business Partners with core change competencies to better support their internal clients and teams. 

Highlights from Stephanie’s consulting engagements include: helping leading global companies launch new corporate strategies in engaging and culturally relevant ways; building commitment at all levels of the organization to customer-centric service delivery; preparing leaders to design and stand up new organizations; launching internal change agent networks and advisory councils; equipping managers as change leaders and coaches of their teams; rallying employee ambassadors as brand champions; and measuring the effectiveness of internal communications functions. Her clients have included: Applied Materials, Bayer, Cessna, CSG, Compassion International, Equifax, Estee Lauder Companies, FedEx Latin America & Caribbean, Hilton Garden Inn, Kellogg, Lundbeck, Pfizer, Philips, Johnson Controls, Johnson & Johnson and Quest Diagnostics. 

Stephanie’s client work has received industry recognition: a 2015 SABRE award for best use of innovative internal communications channels in a multi-year partnership with Johnson Controls to build a culture of One Johnson Controls. She was also the recipient of two industry awards (IABC Gold Quill & Publicity Club of Chicago Golden Trumpet) for work with Kellogg’s to Ignite the Olympic Spirit of employees around the company’s sponsorship of the London 2012 Olympic Games. 

Stephanie began her career as an entrepreneur and the co-founder of; a website designed to help students find meaningful internship opportunities throughout the United States. The site was profiled in The Wall Street JournalEconomist and Human Resources Executive

Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication from Boston University. She is also certified in delivering FranklinCovey’s The Speed of Trust. Outside of work, Stephanie is a travel enthusiast and has explored six of seven continents.
